CODIN wins a project financed under HORIZON 2020
CODIN, together with the Italian Navy, the CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) and numerous other European and non-European partners has been awarded a project funded under Horizon 2020 called ANDROMEDA (An EnhaNceD Common InfoRmatiOn Sharing EnvironMent for BordEr CommanD, Control & CoordinAtion Systems).
The project aims to create an innovative and unitary [Common Information Sharing Environment] system of knowledge and surveillance of the territory, aimed at improving the security of maritime and land borders.
The system, through cross-border collaboration between authorities operating in land and maritime environments (coast guards, police border guards, sailors, customs) will support professionals throughout the life cycle of border situations, from observation of elements in the environment up to the detection of anomalies and planning aid, creating and validating better situational awareness and leading to a cost-efficient use of existing resources.
In the CODIN project it will take care of creating the solution, based on its ESSG® framework, aimed at identifying and supervising the behavior of ships in real time.
